Currently, we are excited to announce an exceptional professional opportunity within a leading company in the financial sector in Belgium.

We are actively seeking a Director of Risk & Compliance (M/F/X) to join a renowned company operating in the financial services field. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations, managing operational risks, and overseeing the company's compliance activities.

As a member of the Executive Committee, the successful candidate will support the implementation of FinanceBel's digital transformation strategy and drive business growth. Additionally, you will oversee a team of experts, facilitate committees, and enhance communication among various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities of the Director of Risk & Compliance include:

  • Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and procedures defined by the group for all company activities and products.
  • Promoting a culture of risk management and implementing effective internal controls tailored to the company's size.
  • Safeguarding strategic and personal data in accordance with legal provisions.
  • Ensuring the security of information systems and business continuity.
  • Providing reports required by regulatory authorities and the group, while serving as their primary contact.
  • Preventing fraud, money laundering, and terrorist financing.
  • Managing corporate secretarial duties and supporting the Board of Directors.

The final appointment of the Director of Risk & Compliance is subject to approval by the Executive Committee of the National Bank of Belgium.


· Education: You hold a university degree, preferably in law.

· Experience: With over five years of experience in fields such as Compliance, Audit, Internal Control, Operational Risk Management within financial services, preferably in the consumer credit sector.

· Team Leadership: Possessing persuasive skills, capable of mobilizing, supervising, developing, and motivating a team. Your energy and perseverance are infectious.

· Analytical Skills: Able to formulate a vision within your areas of expertise and translate it into tangible actions, as well as effectively implement this action plan. You focus on achieving results and can bring structure to chaos.

· Initiative: Analyze market trends and demonstrate initiative and autonomy in your daily operations.

· Communication: A strong communicator both verbally and in writing, proficient in Dutch and French. Knowledge of English is advantageous.
