A key financial institution in Qatar is actively looking for a Finance Director (Qatari National) to oversee the financial day-to-day operations and ensures that financial operations are completed accurately and timely.

The Role

As Director – Finance, you will report directly to the Chief Financial & Tax Officer and lead financial planning, treasury, accounting, and reporting while optimizing financial processes and aligning them with business objectives.

• Financial Strategy & Leadership
• • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with corporate goals.
  • Provide expert financial guidance to the CFO and executive leadership to support long-term capital planning, investment decisions, and risk management.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance financial sustainability, including cost optimization and new revenue generation.
• Financial Planning, Budgeting & Analysis
• • Lead the financial planning process, ensuring accurate forecasting, scenario modeling, and strategic budget allocations.
  • Work closely with the Ministry of Finance (MoF) on budget approvals and funding allocations, ensuring compliance and alignment with financial policies.
• Treasury & Cash Flow Management
• • Develop and execute a robust treasury strategy, ensuring liquidity, optimal cash flow, and efficient deployment of financial resources.
  • Oversee short-term and long-term investment strategies, ensuring a balanced portfolio to maximize returns.
  • Implement strong internal controls to manage financial risks effectively.
• Financial Operations & Compliance
• • Oversee the accounting function, ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting in compliance with IFRS and regulatory standards.
  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring strong governance, risk management, and control frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies while continuously enhancing financial reporting systems.
• Digital Transformation & Process Improvement
• • Drive finance department automation and digital transformation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee the implementation and optimization of ERP systems and financial dashboards to support executive decision-making.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership: partner with government entities, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions to ensure compliance and collaboration and act as a key financial representative in cross-functional committees

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (ACCA or equivalent preferred)
• 10+ years of experience in Tax, Finance & Accounting, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
• Expertise in financial planning, IFRS, budgeting, and process improvement
• Strong leadership, communication, and strategic decision-making skills
• Qatari National
