Position Overview: As Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice and support on a wide range of legal matters, with a focus on corporate law, compliance, and commercial contracts. You will work closely with senior management, business teams, and external legal advisors to mitigate risks, ensure legal compliance, and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on corporate governance, business operations, and corporate structures in Saudi Arabia.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including joint ventures, partnerships, supply contracts, and service agreements.
- Advise on regulatory compliance with Saudi laws and regulations, including those related to labor, corporate, and competition law.
- Support the business in handling disputes, including managing litigation, arbitration, and mediation processes.
- Assist with mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions, ensuring compliance with KSA law and international standards.
- Monitor and advise on changes to local legislation and regulations that may impact the company’s operations.
- Provide legal training to internal teams and help develop policies to mitigate legal risks.
- Coordinate with external law firms and legal consultants as necessary.
- Ensure that the company’s interests are protected in all legal matters, and minimize exposure to legal risks.
Key Requirements:
- Education: Law degree from a recognized university. Additional qualifications in corporate law or international business law will be an advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a legal counsel, preferably within a multinational corporation or law firm, with a strong background in corporate law, commercial contracts, and Saudi Arabian legal matters.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabian laws and regulations, particularly corporate law, commercial law, labor law, and regulatory compliance.
- Skills:
- Strong ability to draft and negotiate legal documents.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in contract law and dispute resolution methods (litigation, arbitration).
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Language Proficiency: Native or fluent in Arabic (both written and spoken). Proficiency in English is essential.
- Location: Must be based in Riyadh or willing to relocate.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a multinational company or in-house legal team.
- Familiarity with the legal frameworks for foreign investment and joint ventures in Saudi Arabia.
- Experience in regulatory and compliance matters specific to Saudi Arabia and the GCC region
